OEM kit vs. SH sides & rear? i need opinions

I am either going to get the OEM kit for my 01` ebp or get the sides and rear skirts painted to match my car. The oem kit is going to cost me $800 vs. the painted skirts that will cost $200 or less. What is everyones opinion???? does anyone think the car looks cleaner without the oem?? or cleaner with?? I just cant decide if its worth me paying $800 for that.

thanks

I hate telling people this cause it pisses me off, but I have been talking to the people at the dealership near my house (Manchester Honda), and they have informed me that the OEM kit will soon no longer be made because the prelude is not being made anymore and there is no demand for the kit. So for all of you who were waiting cause you didn't have enough money, either get it now or think about what other kit you like. I had problems getting mine and many other people were told that they were back ordered and never ended up getting them. So I would try and get one now if you can, and if you really want one bad. I'm just trying to let everyone know so they don't go out in a couple months and realize that there are no more OEM kits....

How about WW RS kit. I think its more agressive and makes the car look much lower then it is. My friend just got the Wings West Avenger kit on his car......HOLLY SH-- He has 2000 SH Nighthawk black....that thing is off the hook. He is being a PUS-- about it...why well cause he doesnt want to get bigger rims (he is on stocks now) also he wants to get coilovers.....WHY ...listen to this....he wants to raise it cause he thinks he can and will scrape. RASIE A LUDE How retarded is that. Me and bunch of people telling him to drop that sucka like 1" all around ...but he is complaining about losing the ride quality. Someone talk some sense into him. If you guys want i'll post the pics ..let me know

Personally, I think it's better to have a subtle kit and a low drop then to have a low kit and a subtle drop. Wheel gap is a big in my book...

I definitely prefer the SH matching trim over the OEM body kit. I think the OEM kit ruins the Prelude's sleak, clean lines. I bought the SH sides and rear and have them on my Base model. And if bankrupt @home had not shut down it's webspace servers with all my pictures on them yesterday, I could post my pics to show what it looks like...

Has anyone gone with the front and rear OEM skirts and just painted the sideskirts? I ask because the OEM side skirts don't even seem to hang that much lower than the stock skirts and you can save yourself a little bit of $ and still get a decent look. I like the way the rear skirt adds to the lude, mine is dropped 1 inch or so and the back end looks like it sits higher that my dad's stock accord.

seems like front is a little too low for the sides and rear.......also, i like the extended lip the OEM kit rear gives.....so i say if ur going to get a kit.......either get the full OEM kit or get a type s front lip and paint the sides cuz type s is not as conspicuous

There is no difference between sh skirts and the base non painted skirts except for well the bases aren't painted. Why would you buy sh sides they're the same skirt the bases are! SH's just are painted from the factory. I just bought base sides, not painted for 50 bucks they were mint. Getting them painted for 200 plus that includes respray of the wwrs rear lip that I'm keeping. So I'll have oem front and painted oem sides and painted wwrs rear. I think it will look nice.
