!@&% OEM Front Lip &%^$* MuthaF&$^#%

So i've had my Lude for about a year or so now, and just finally got myself an OEM front lip - from HandaAccessories, got it in the mail today and figured I would slap it on before i go to work.

I bought my lude used from some younger kid in jersey,.. the SH was in good shape, ran great, gave me a good deal and I love my Lude,.

So i started to clean the bumper up, and was wondering where the clip nuts and bumper bolts went exactly, so then i gazed under my bumper and this is what i saw.....

WTF!?!?! so this means either i A.) go to a shop and pay god knows what for a 'fix' that will not be as stable as stock or B.) buy a new bumper.

What would make someone cut their bumper up,...

i think there is supposed to be a heat shield there. i bet you could make some brackets to mount the lip to what you've got though. mine is only held on by the 2 screws on each side, all the middle plastic brackets are broken off.

I think you could make it work without much work just a couple mounts like Michelle said. It really doesn't take much for the front lip to be stable.

I think that if this is the flamenco black lip that you could just sell it to me because im gonna buy one anyway soon and I wanna get it from handa or another accessory parts site that sells the authentic factory painted lip, as well as the rest of the oem lip kit but I cant find sides or rear in my color all they have is electron blue

serious you don't need all those tabs. mine is held on fine with the 2 screws on the ends. maybe some double stick tape. your bumper is in way better shape than mine is

Yea i figure im going to be headed to Pep Boys / Home Depot for some super double sided tape, and go to town on it

Even with just the two screws on yours, you notice any shaking on the highway at all? just curious. thanks

i don't hear anything. its loose in the front if you grab it, but mine has no tape on it. i could fix my brackets - they are all still screwed into the bumper. but its not bad enough for me to bother with it.

So i got my 3m tape today, but also got a call from my landlord (he buys and sells cars for/from auctions in the area - I'm from SoCal originally so not to sure where he gets em) but he just bought a 98 base and said i can swap front bumpers - just cost me the paint to do it,.. the Base bumper looks like its in bad shape,.. nothing bondo cant fix i guess, and hell while they are at it i guess i can have the shop fill in the side markers too. Heading to the shop tomorrow...

great solution. How are you going to paint it? Shop or self?

Nah id have a shop paint it all up,.. when i had that tree hit my car a few weeks back:

Tree 1 vs. Lude 0

These guys did a GREAT job, and their shop is like a 15 minute walk from my house, so its real convenient too. The guys at the shop are pretty cool too, .. I sweetened the deal when they painted my car by giving them a few bottles of Sicilian wine, from when i was stationed over in Sicily a few years back,.. The main painter is from Italy so that was a big hit with him (anyone who has ever lived in Italy, then you know how the 'give a little and get' works )
