OEM Endlinks SUK bigtime

so I tried to install *tried is the key word*the ST rear sway bar <i'm like yeah sweet > then I go to remove the endlinks from the stock bar which is on the Lude....damn.... using a hex head and a 17mm ratchet wrench... this sucks...the endlinks are on like mo-fo's...I understand it's a locknut, so you have to break the force for the first turn... but wow, could not get em off...it was almost like then pin <bolt> had a different thread from the nut.
These end links have been on my car for 3 years ...but damn they should not be like this.... I attributed a lot of problems to the design....but the I thought I would ask you guys if anyone had specific problems in this area?

DUde, you're not just using a 17mm with a 3/8 in drive ratchet are you??? If so, you gotta get some 1/2 in tool action!!! Maybe even use a cheater bar on the end of that 1/2 in wrench! WOuld also be a good idea to liberally spray lube on the bolts 1st too...

I put some lube / smooth juice on there, and put lots of stank behind it.... but still no joy.
I used a 6mm hex head and stoped the stud from moving.
