Odometer Help Pls...

Good Day!
I purchased a used instrument cluster to replace the broken one in my 2K Lude, (most all components physically smashed! , so swapping individual parts not an option...and ahhh, don't ask )
The problem is that my car only has ~118k miles on it while the 'new' cluster's odometer is at 137,212. Is there a way to change it so it reads the actual mileage on my car? Is it legal to do that?!?...and/or are there certain procedures to 'officially' document this kind of thing?
(Note that it's the standard type, (i.e. not an LCD kind of display, the numbers just look 'normal'. . .??!); but since I haven't taken it out yet I don't really know much about it, how it works, etc. )
I'd really appreciate any help or direction pls... Thanks!!!

Turning back the odometer is illegal. I'm sure there is some kind of paperwork you can fill out and get notarized before swapping the clusters. It would just have to be something to document the mileage on the old odometer vs. the new one.

I appreciate your input, although you don't seem very certain about any specific procedures regarding the 'documentation' and all, ya know?!? (Note Indy, I did find this thread you might want to take a look at...>> Odometer rollback)
So. . . still looking for answers guys.

Nope, I don't know the details....but I do know that you cannot legally roll back an odometer for any reason.

if you take the car into a dealership and have them attend the whole issues they may be able to get y9u a new odometer that is calibrated to match the old one, i am sure it would be very expensive though.

You might not be able to legally adjust an odometer, however if there is no part number associated with the original cluster and the car itself then utilizing the 'new/used' one and if you do roll it back only you ( and us here at PO ) will know. Good luck man
