ODB II question

I know this has been discussed, but is ODB II really as bad as some people say it is? I just installed i/h/e this weekend and I did notice a difference after resetting the ECU, but I don't want to have to rewire the memory like that workaround on ntpog says and I can't pull my clock/radio fuse every week because I'll get sick of having to reset all of my hi-pass/lo-pass filters etc. on my head unit. I don't have any way to measure my performance like a dyno or any consistant track times, but will I actually be losing a lot because of the ECU detuning my ignition and fuel mapping? Also, will a V-AFC help this or does it compensate for that too?

everything is compensated for. I'm not sure the VAFC is also. Since it does interpret the signals comming in and out of the ECU, it might not get affected to bad.

The best alternative is the NTPOG work around. It is very easy. Just find the orange memory wire on the ecu harness, cut it, and put a small switch in to turn it on and off. Just leave it in the off position unless you throw an check engine light. That way, it feel like you reset your ecu everytime you drive your car.
