lol! I do have a good car and ATTS is pretty nice but I'm ready for something different. Unfortunately, I can't do anything about it right now as I'm into another expensive film production. Maintinence and small fixes for now until I can put it up for sale. I have no secondary car ATM. I still love Starions but I may just do an early WRX. I understand you have to do a lot to WRX suspensions to make them handle.

Gah, off topic :P

Can some one elaborate on the effects of painting/laquering your calipers? I can't prove this is correct, but from what I have read/heard painting the caliper decreases the braking effect after usage. The heat generated build up in the caliper and can't escape as freely due to the paint. This would cause fluid temps to rise and thats bad

correct me if I am wrong but didn't the DC2 Integra Type-R use the same size rotors and calipers as the early nsx???

the paint and heat thing kind of makes sense, and having paint calipers myself make it more interesting...

im not so sure the nsx calipers have better "grip" or "stoping power" than normal vtec brakes. better cooling properties, yes. better dissapation of energy or grip, most likely. i think it is designed for better spreading of force and heating the rotor more evenly or something like that. the nsx is pretty similar in weght so it doesnt really need much better brakes from the factory. and even if the front brakes did "grip" the rotors better, you would still have three more problems to deal with.

1: you would have to upgrade rear calipers or brake components to compensate for the added force to the front wheels to not throw off the brake bias. if you dont, then you would really risk locking up the front wheels much sooner than you would be, or maybe better said... could be... pushing the rear wheels. this would possibly result in actually increasing stopping distances from stock, instead of the intended decrease of....

2. the other problem is tires, you can only push tires so much. this is what actually stops the car. money would be better spent here or just in new rotors and better pads.

3. type2 legend gs brakes would be cheaper. the differences between the nsx and legend calipers are limted to looks and weight, actual performance probably isnt noticeable to the driver. you can use the legend caliper and brackets, good prelude pads, and the larger legend rotor, about an inch larger i think, for much less money.

i think most brake upgrades are done to eliminate fade, it seems if you go anyfurther you actually need to change everything, and kind of tune it, if you actually want to improve brake distances . however despite everything i may seem to think, if i found a set of nsx calipers for a very good price id definatley get a set, they look cool as hell

One of the benefits of using the 2 piston caliper for track use is to help with force distribution. I have still bent brake pads with a 2 piston caliper, but it happens much less often.

As a bling factor, they look nice. Personally, I'd rather paint my stock ones and get some ceramic pads from Hawk...no dust and great stopping power.

Hi yeah I'm a noob to these forums, but not a noob to forums.
