I never had any HID HL's. What exactly happens when you do that? I'm interested to know.

So I had to go and had no time to change a light so I turned the lights on bright and went out to unplug the one h.I.d that still was working.bad idea those thing will light your ass up.big time so kids out there in car land don't do this or get your friend you don't like to unplug one.lol

No offense to you or anyone reading this.... but just to give some background

But any form of HID kit, let alone your standard fluorescent lights, metal halide, high pressure sodium, neon signs/lights, LED lights, and many other electrical components that use any form of "ballast" that converts a lower voltage to a much higher voltage for a larger output...will give you a nice zap and in some of the listed devices - kill you.

Small things like 120 fluorescent ballasts and car HID ballasts will give you a nice burn or zap.... but not smart to mess with any electrical component while power is on.

You risk anything going to ground and farther damaging the component(s) you are working on aka melting wires, blowing fuses, melting complete harness connectors or the ballasts/circuit boards in conjunction with that specific part you are messing with. (ontop of getting a nice zap)

In the end, be more cautious and aware of your surroundings. - take it from someone that's been hit with everything from alternators to 480v, it's not something you want to joke about.
