My oil cooler seal blew out a few months ago. I started it up 10 minutes early to warm up and my guess is it was idling in the driveway with no oil for 4-5 minutes. It was making a loud squeaking noise when I ran out to turn it off. The only thing I noticed was it idled slightly lower than before. Still runs good. No other problems. I was told to check the camshaft lobes so see if they were scored. This car has 160,000 miles on it and my questions is: Is this normal wear or is this bad?

I took pictures of the worst ones. The first two pics are of one and the second two pics are from another. They are completely smooth. The pics look worse now that I uploaded them than they did in person. Anyone have any input?

For 160k miles they don't look bad................................for a second.


But the scoring that is easily visible in pic #1 is really peculiar.
