Noise coming from engine - Honda Prelude Forum

On the driver side of my engine, I'm getting a loud noise (sounds similar to knock but its not an actual engine knock). I had the crankshaft pulley replaced twice on this motor since 2009, the last time was late 2010 during the winter. The weird thing is that the noise doesn't seem as bad at high rpms but that could be the exhaust covering the noise. If I switch on the air conditioner on, the noise gets much worse and increases in volume until I turn it off. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

i will try to post the sound this evening. and wouldnt a belt or pulley give more of a squeal sound? which it does right when i start the car but then immediately stops and begins to sound more like a knock or bang.
