it seems like lots of people are complaining about certain buzzing/rattling/cranking noise in the 5th gen ludes: noise at front, moonroof, seats(from the springs), noise when they start the car and move the first few feet(?the ABS self-test), engine problems, tranny noise, on relatively new ludes. what's going on with the honda prelude reliability and excellence in workmanship????? no wonder the prelude is being dropped. i have a 2001 base SS, with about 800 miles (bought it new at 7 miles), now with intermittent rattling noise here and there that comes and goes. what a disappointment with the car (my 94 prelude with 110000 miles NEVER gave me ANY problem whatsoever) :-(
anyone else with similar noise complaints?

The 5th gen is a great car. If you bought this car because you wanted a car with no rattles, no noises and cranking noises then you bought the wrong car. Sorry but, is true. My car has some rattles here and there but, it doesn't bother me at all. However my engine/tranny is making a metal grinding noise whenever the clutch is not engage. It only does this when I've driven the car hard. The dealer is going to check it Monday. My car has 11,000 miles on it. Just in case my car is going back to stock this weekend.
