You guys are retarted. He asks a question, and you flame him. Do you retards know that most of the IMPORT drag cars are autos? Did you know that an auto allows the turbo to spool before take off and a tq converter smooths out the tb tq spike allowing for an easier launch? PRELUDES AREN'T DRAG CARS! Stop acting like you have the fastest car in the world.

You need to drop some weight. Start with a set of light weight wheels, and drop your trunk junk. Pullies are also a great mod. Then maybe the VAFC. CF hood. Lighter battery.

and now you flame everyone else who has given opinions...but the only reason why everyone is talking like they are about the ss lude is cause the trannies arent that strong...95%(just about) the people with ss's have problems with the tranny....as for what he should do witht he money is all depending on how much he has....and what he wants from the car...what he wants the car do...and if it is an everyday car...if its an everyday car i wouldnt recommend a turbo(just added stress on the car and also makes it more finicky) unless you want to wait til the greddy turbo kit comes out...very good package, and no problems everything you need is there, and not to worry about too much boost to start messin with the car...rims and suspension is a good thing to do, you want the car to handle like it should..especially if you eventaully want to go turo or supercharger, or nos....but i think that payyourtoll has said it the best for performance wise stuff...i look at this way, get the small stuff done first, then go fo rthe bigger stuff that will give it significant gains, and cost more...only thing is this i wouldnt suggest getting the header if you are eventually going turbo...waste of money....you have to take it off then..and why waste money when you can put it towards a different mod. for the car...you can also do seats...c/f hood...system....nos....sway bars..strut tower bars...shocks and coilovers...hid kit fo rhte headlites...jdm fogs....change the steering wheel...go all motor(build the block)....strenthen the tranny for later on down the road when you want to be able to handle the power a turbo or s/c puts out...clutch/flywheel...this is just my .02...take it for what it is worth

Yes, I am flaming the flamers. Everyone has the right to their opinion, but if you are going to flame, I will flame back. Also, as far as the SS tranny's reliability is concerned, you should note that changes were made in the 99+ models that greatly improved the reliability. That is why you haven't heard too many 99+ owners complain. Also, the tranny's reliability can be further built up by installing a tranny cooler and filter. As you know the #1 cause of transmission failure is heat. And level 10 makes tranny kits and tq converters that will handle up to 500 whp. ( for a price of course )

We all have Ludes here..... I am positive that the Lude was never meant to be a drag car anyway.

95% of SS owners experience tranny problems? Where them numbers? I guess I should feel lucky for being in that elite 5%...I think that SS haters have snowballed a routine defect that happens everynow and then, into a "SS cant hack it" mentality.

And BTW, I havent heard any complaints from 2000 or 2001 SS owners. Most of the complaints come from 97's and 98s.
