New Project* Painting my Base wheels!! $25 dollar paint job!

My car is Red with CF hood and trunk, blacked tails, etc. So i got tired of my alloy colored wheels so i decided i was going to paint them.

I sanded really good. Then 2 coats of dupli-color primer. 3 coats of flat black spray paint. 3 Coats of Dupli-color high performance wheel paint. Done!

STEP1-Sanding

STEP2-Buying paint supplies

STEP3- Priming

STEP4-First Layers of paint

STEP5- Start layering clear coat

One thing you probably didn't notice is next time you get new tires you're going to have a spot that isn't painted because they're going to move the wheel weight.

you need to deflate your tires to be able to pop it off. i'm planning on doing this to my rims but with bronze.

can you clear up what colors of paint you used? the primer is obviously gray but what's up with the 3 cans of gloss/flat/satin krylon?

did you spray the rims with the primer, then with the krylon flat, then with duplicolor black wheel paint, then duplicolor wheel clear coat?

The gloss is just on the shelf. I used dupli color self etching primer which was green. Then flat black krylon and dupli color wheel clear coat. The satin is supposed to be flat black but I got the wrong color. So the passenger side will be flat black and the driver is satin. There wasn't much diference in the tones anyway

cause i looked and autozone, walmart, and advanced autoparts and none of them had the duplicolor black wheel paint so i just used normal and topped it with the wheel coat.
