New Pipe, High End Sputtering

Hey Y'all, I just put a new stainless exhaust (just a muffler) on my 01 lude and now I've been noticing that when i get on it at high rpms (in the vtec range) it sputters sometimes. I also noticed that the pipe turn black awfully fast. It is pretty cold up here right now and I was wondering if that had anything to do with it. Anybody seen this before or know how i can fix it.

What do you mean by "sputtering?" If you get some rumbling or popping when you let off of the gas at high RPMs, that's normal- it's justbackfiring. The soot is also normal, too, it's just your rich exhaust settling everywhere. You can only fix that with a V-AFC or similar a/f controller and some dyno time to properly tune it in.

Neither are anything to worry about.
