New and improved 1/4 mile time with all mods installed....
I finally got all of my mods installed, got tired of them just sitting in their respective boxes. The first thing I obviously did was to go out to the track. I ran with 28lbs in my tires, full interior, but removed the spare and jack. I had six runs and the fifth was my best.
R/T........0.668
60ft.......2.21
1/8........9.561
1/4........14.68
That is a big improvement over my lows 15s that I ran stock. All of the mods in my sig are now installed. Only things I noticed is that the exhaust seems a tad boomier than I expected. From what I've read this is normal until you get about 400 miles on it and it is broken in. Second, my **** CAI still makes the tinny/mettalic sound around 6800-8000rpms. I'm about ready to yank it out!

Whats up Ed ....
I read your other threads about this noise you hear, but I dont think its your CAI. There's nothing that really has room to shake. I guess you have already tried pulling it out, inspecting, and re-installing it ? Sounds dumb, but maybe you dropped a tool or bolt that is rattling somewhere ?
*Sweet time by the way .... definitely work on dropping your r/t
Is it just me or does it seem like there's several people that believe that your r/t affects your 1/4 mile times? A .5 r/t is really just as good as you can get. Awesome times man!!! I give you major props! I'll be happy when I hit 15's in my SS But all in good time I'll be running with everyone else.
Thanks for the props guys! My first run was dismal. I got so much wheel hop I thought the car was going to fall apart. Each run got progressively better. I'll try to scan the timeslip if I can find someone with a scanner.
Hey Payyourtoll, I put the stock intake back on the other day and the noise completely disappeared, but so did the cool sound and power . I lined the hole in the fenderwell with a rubber surround and tightened the bracket down, so I'm sure the darn thing isn't rubbing. There is a snag that almost wore through the back of it but didn't make it all the way through. I checked for vaccuum leaks too. None were found. I dont know. I'm almost ready to throw it out. By the way, how do you like the short shifter?

I dont think it is rubbing at the throttle body. I'll have to go outside and check just to make sure. I'm thinking I just got a bad one. Who knows. I may just buy a new one.

I think its a combo. I've had my car for a few months now so I think I've finally got used to the clutch/tranny/launch points. If it was stock I think I could do maybe 15 flat, but with my mods I still think I can drop a tenth or so. I just need to go ahead and burn the shi*** stock tires off so I can get something that actually gets traction.

Nice times. R/T doesn't have anything to do with your et. R/T only counts when you're racing head to head or bracket racing. The clock doesn't start until you get rolling so your E.T's won't be affected by a bad reaction time.

What was your launch rpm-wise? The famed "LC Launch"? Did you feather the clutch, or dump it? What was your trap speed? I guess I better work on my drag racing skills.

I revved up to about 4500 rpms and basically popped the clutch out while feathering the gas to avoid wheel hop ( as I had too much of on my first two trys). I knew it was going to be a good time. It just "felt right" The best part was that I lined up next to a mid 90s Mustang GT 5psd. He sucked it up and pretty smoked the tires off the line. His quarter time was 15.7!!!!! When I got back to my friends they were all ragging on him about how a "little ole' 4 cylinder Honda killed a V8 Mustang. James, I look forward to our run when I get up to StL. Hopefully I'll get my blasted CAI issue ironed out by then.

Ed, looks like you launched the same way I did, but your 60ft was a touch faster than mine (mine was around 2.23, I think). Since our mods are nearly identical, I wonder if I would've dipped into the 14s with the pulleys then. I have the disadvantage of the larger diameter wheels (even though they're lighter than the stockies), and my car weighing more than yours (the SH is overweight ).
I think you'll whoop my ass when we go head-to-head.

I've heard that larger wheels really hurt your times. The pulleys will probably help your 60ft times by getting your rpms up faster. I really really really wanted the fireball rims that pooop has, but just don't want to hurt my times as well as the fact that my stock wheel buyer backed out. I sent you a new 'pm'.
