As you probably already know my car just recently came back from the dealership. The clutch, flywheel and crankshaft were replaced.

I washed/waxed my car today and I drove it about 5 hours later. I noticed that when I brake hard (accelerate and stop) my car makes this weird noise...from the brakes. When I get out of my car I can smell an odor like skunks (probably the new clutch).

My car never did this before, is it because of the clutch, or maybe the fact that the rotors and brakes could still be moist/wet from when I washed my car.

Also, my car won't make this noise when I am just rolling down a hill and I stomp on my brakes in neutral. The noise only comes when I accelerate a little and stop hard.

Same problem here! I smell it too! I think it's because of the new clutch. When I reached about 900 miles on my car, I no longer had that stinky problem. I was really paranoid at first. About your problem with the noise: could it be the abs pump? I hear that noise everytime I turn the car on after a little acceleration.

But the loud noise is not the ABS pump. I sometimes got this noise before when I used to spary my tires with tire shine. But right now when I brake hard after accelerating my car makes this loud noise.

Anyone with advice/suggestions?
