just done to my car intake exhust coilover etc.......
coming up spring i'mtrying to buy rims and tires
tell me everything that u know......
thank you guys you guys the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
www.whalentire.com can help you find the right tire size for your rims. Hehe, I dunno how you guys can drive on 18's. If you ask me, I'm glad that the rims I want, te-37s or sw388s, look good in 16's with kinda thickish tires. I had 17 inch rims on my old car and it took about 20% of my concentration away from driving and into avoiding potholes, railroad tracks etc.

you guys know whattttttt....I.........mean........
isit could be 235/45/17????????????
can some one tell me more about this......
thank you guys
235/45-17 will be too wide to fit under the fender lip and will have a larger diameter than stock. It will almost surely not work, even if your car is at stock height and you roll the edge of the fenders. And if you get a wheel with a high enough offset that it doesn't bump the fenders, it won't clear the suspension links (esp. in front). If you want 17s, 215s are about as wide as you can go given what's offered. Get a wheel with 40-45 offset and it will be pretty flush with the fender, though it might still rub.

I am running some enkei 17's with nitto 205/40/zr17 tires and I do not have any problems with the rubbing, you might want to try that
A 205.40.17 has a lower Overall diameter than the stock 205.55.15's
Im running 205.45.17's but only cos they came with the rims.
When I change I will either go 215.40.17 or 215.45.17 whichever is closest to original O.D
dont forget to get the correct offset on the rims you're gonna get, an offset of +45 and up shoud be ok depending on what tires you're getting and how much you are dropped
whats wrong with running a 214/45 tire on a 17 rim. Lets say a 1.5 inch drop. How high of an offset do you need to make that set up fit. or how about 225/40 17 how would that look?
I been trying to figure out what to do about tire size but every one is sayig different stuff so now i'm confused more then ever.

Most people use a 215/45/17 or a 215/40/17. Not that many companys offer a 215/45/17, so most go with the 40 series because you have more of a selection. Either size will work.

To elaborate on ur Q and to reiterate on what Mugenlude said
I have the same dilemma as u. I'm dropped on Neuspeed Sports and am going to run on 17". The offset u'll NEED is 45+, the offset on the stock rims are 55, so pick a rim w/45+ offset to be on the safe side.
Also, I personally am going to go w/215/45's. the 45 series is about 2% larger than the stock diameter, while 215/40's is less than 1% smaller than stock. The reason? A bit more tire cushioning for the rims If u live in a place w/bad roads and tons of potholes, I would suggest u to do the same.
As for tire selection, 215/40's offer the most choices, 45's have a decent amount of choices, while 225's have almost none except for Nitto's that I could think of. Hope that helps!
Thanks guy... You right not a lot of companies offer 215/45 17 tires. Which kinda sucks. But what can you do. I live in NY and there are some majorly F up roads here. I usually try to keep slow in areas I dont knowl. But it sometimes still hits very hard when you hit some bumps. So i can only imagine how bad it would hit with a 40 profile tire. So my first agenda is to find some rims with 45+ or 48 offest. I can only think of ROTA at the moment that offers the 48 offset. Which is #1 on my list. So i guess its that and some 45 tires.
