Hey Guys!! I am 16 and I just bought a 99 Prelude TypeS that has been lowered. I live on a gravel road and it is scraping a little bit and just out on the road the front wheels rub sometimes.
The shocks don't have a name on them but I am pretty sure they are KYB AGX's, the springs are red and are labeled H&R C/M 29 879 HA. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what I need to raise the car.
Can I install adjustable coilovers with these shocks and springs?
I don't have much money to spend on this so I am looking for a cheap solution.
Thanks so much guys!

don't mind Kronn, he's just poking fun at you because you said your car is a Type S.
anyhow, look into getting some ground control coilovers. they are sleeve type coilovers that will fit on your existing shocks and you can raise your car that way.

Georgetown CA is in an area known as "the divide" and has some of the finest twisty roads you'll find anywhere. It's near the start of the Rubicon trail across the Sierras. There can't be many better places to own a Prelude.
If you start changing your suspension set up make sure you get it right!
Lol, Actually it is a Type S It says it on the back, but then again, it does have a sunroof and the drivers seat is on the left. Maybe the last owner just stuck the TypeS plaque on there..??
Dblair is correct, I drive up and down a windy canyon every day I work.
Thanks Phryxis!! That was what I was looking into but I needed to make sure they would work with my set-up. Now, do I need to buy somehting like this? GROUND CONTROL COILOVER SPRINGS 92-01 PRELUDE - eBay (item 130410142244 end time Feb-08-11 21:11:37 PST)
Or do I just need the adjustable sleeve thing without the springs? Sorry guys I don't know much about cars or suspension.
OK, just because there's a Type S sticker or emblem on the back does NOT mean you have a Type S. If that were the case, I've already seen 4-5 Prelude Type-Rs, even though they were never made.
If you do truly have one, which I doubt because it would have cost an arm and a leg, I'd like some info from it.

Haha, ok! I guess it must not be... maybe it is a Type SH or just base? :P
First 10 characters of your VIN and I can tell you for sure.

And yes, get the GC coilovers, but get custom rates. The Off-The-Shelf rates are too soft.

Ok now, any idea what spring rate I should get? My regular route includes about 20 mins of flat and pretty straight highway and then about 15 mins of steep windy canyon. I will be getting them directly from Ground Control.
Thanks again for your help
The cheapest way to solve your problem would be to roll the fenders. This would keep the tire from rubbing which I'm sure is the biggest annoyance. That is boatloads cheaper than buying and having your springs replaced and it will keep your car handling well and looking low and awesome.
