Need opinions on best cheap rims for drag racing a 5th gen...

I need to find two rims that I use for running the 1/4 mile. I was thinking of getting 2 Integra Type R rims cause they're 15s and lightweight plus they're 5-lug and a direct bolton to our ludes. What else can you guys recommend. I want the cheapest possible solution that fits our cars. Even the Type R rims are hard to find and kinda pricey - I want something that I can put either slicks on or some nitto drag radials. Any suggestions?

ITR rims will be hard to find unless you find them used. And if your looking for lightweight rims, they will be pretty pricey.
Except Rotas, you should check them out. They're pretty light and not that expensive.

Rota Slipstreams. Light as hell and very very cheap.

I think a more important question is what size tire do you plan to run on these wheels?

The ITR rims are 15x6, so the widest tire you can go with is 225. Even that will be a tight fit and I wouldn't recommend it for street use.

If you're going to get 15x6's, I'd suggest Mazda Millenia wheels. Also 15x6 (+50 offset) and they're lighter than ITR wheels (~13 lb IIRC). Most of the ITR and 93-95 MR2 autocrossers use these wheels. They're fairly cheap too, but some junkyards have figured out that these things are in high demand.

For a 15x7, you might try a Kosei K1. Tirerack lists them as 12.8-13.5 lb and I think they were $149/each.

Really? I thought ITR rims were 16's (besides the point, just curious)

The JDM wheels were 16's, but all USspec (and Canadian too) ITR's have 15's.

I'd go with the kosei k1's cuz they seem to fit your requirements pretty well. plus they look pretty damn good!
