well with hids in our normal headlights you get a lot of glare. probably will get high beamed a lot. also draws attention from police. with retrofits they look like they came from the factory. also retrofits have almost no glare. the 4k range is what most factory hids are. the 6k are a little more purplish. anything higher you have less light output and more color (which draws more attention from the police).

If you want the "look", then just get some colored H1 bulbs from PIAA, Raybrig or just some ebay knock off.

Better yet, he could get some HID Retrofits done and not have to worry about any of the above problems.
If you can't afford it in one shot buy the parts one by one, that's what I did.
Took me a couple months but I have them now, If I didn't do it this way I wouldn't have them.

cause i bought my car with the 6k hid kit. Im not familiar with lighting systems though, is there a way to get purple bulbs on my kit or is that just the same as the 12k?
