Wassup peeps, i was wondering if anyone knew if a USDM 98 H22A4 head would fit on a JDM 96 H22A block? I'm just trying to piece what ever parts i have laying around the house! Any information will be appreciated! Thanks!
So does anyone know if a 96 jdm h22a is closed deck or open deck? Cause its like smack right in between 92-95 h22 and 97-01 h22!
What is the block serial #?

I think you two might be forgetting something. The 5G was released in Japan in 1996.

How can you be so sure? Did you sell him the engine?

No sir i, did no such thing, however, of the amount of engines i have bought/shoppedfor/sold/aquired, i have yet to see a 97+ jdm h22 get swapped in and then sold to someone. With the exception of the accord type r engines as i have seen a few of those.
So i guess, i cannot say for certain this is NOT a 97+ one, however, given the odds, i would put all my ponies in the one stable.

You're missing the point. In JDMland, the 5G Prelude came out in 1996. So there are 1996 open deck engines, which is why I asked for the serial #.

I understand completly why you inquired to the serial, however, i am fairly certain his engine is closed deck. But now would also like you to have the serial so we can find out, or the OP to remove the head and look.
