Need advice on Hiflow Cat and exhaust set up

i have no experience with the measurements of any of this stuff. i currently have a test pipe(stinks lol) and stock exhaust. i am interested in an Apexi WS2 exhaust but not sure what Mangaflow Hiflow cat will work with it. i have a base 5th gen. Any and All advice will be appreciated thanks. car is also stock if this makes a difference.

Replace the test pipe with a cat, and leave it alone until you're ready to do real modifications.

high flow cat / test pipes add exactly 0 hp.

Money is better spent on proper maintenance.

It doesn't really matter. Cats are practically universal, unless you're expecting a bolt-on.

Another one of the "benefits" of living in CA is a law that says you can only replace a CAT on OBDII with OEM. (I may have read something that allows aftermarket but only after CARB approval, I need to check).

I had my original CAT warranted by Honda a while ago due to loose bricks. I've been thinking of replacing it with an aftermarket to preserve it for use during smog check time. So...I've been wondering what the best bet on a bolt on replacement (no welding required) would be. I've read some of them cause check engine lights etc. which would also defeat my purpose.

Any suggestions?

I'd do it in a minute! I'd even move to Oklahoma, bad roads and all.

Just my $0.02. I would recommend buying just the WS2 muffler then getting the piping fabricated as the WS2 cat-back only comes with 2.36 inch piping. I'd go for 2.5in-3in. I have a WS2 cat-back with a carsound high-flow cat. It's pretty quiet at low rmps, but quite raspy and loud when you get into the higher rpms.
