That mysterious "creak" noise...
IS GONE!
You know, the one we've been talking about for a few months now--it happens when we put our 5th gen Preludes into gear and roll away from a stop. Some people think it was motor mounts. Some people think it's transmission related--although both SS and manuals have it. Mine sounded like it was an interior panel.
We all seemed to agree that it only happened when it was cold outside, but unrelated to engine temperature. Well, I think I fixed mine, and here's how I did it:
My passenger window was slow going up and down. Occasionally it wouldn't work but about 50%. It even looked like it had jumped the track at one point. So I lubricated the hell out of the front and rear tracks. Then I lubricated the door hinges, just because I had the spray bottle out. I don't know what fixed it, but it was one of the two.
It was colder here this week than it has been all year. I just noticed in the past day or two that the "creak" noise is GONE. Maybe my noise was different from yours, but at least this is something you can try yourself. Hope it works for you as well as it did for me!
