Ummm I hope that's not what it means

I barely have 4500 miles on my car and my car always makes a soft clunk whenever it shifts(not too noticeable but I can hear it when I'm in a parking garage or something). I think it's normal.

i use to get that clunk sound and it was pretty loud and annoying. i took it to the honda dealer and they didnt know the problem so they had to call Honda HQ in Torrance. They basically flushed the transmission fluid an filled w/ new tranny oil, drove the car for a couple of miles, and flushed the transmission fluid and filled w/ new tranny oil again. this was all under warranty cause my car had around 28000 miles on it. i have just under 33000 miles on my car and still dont have that clunk sound. hope this helps.

tranny oil huh? what if I'm not on warranty anymore? How much does it cost for a flush? think I should do it myself? my ATF still looks pink and clean so I don't know if the fluid has anything to do with it. I'll give it a try though and let everyone know if it works out... that might be a temporary solution.

well...it worked for me. i also did check the tranny oil before i brought it in. it was pink as well and there was hardly any indications of darkness on it. but when they changed it, i checked it and it looked lighter than when i brought it in. if your not in warranty anymore, you might end up paying. let me know how it works out.

My tranny does that clunk a lot as well. Now I'm not so stupid and make sure I'm at a COMPLETE stop with my foot on the brake as I shift from N-D or vice versa. Can't really hear the clunk then. Unnecessary wear and tear on our already fragile tranny's is not needed...

just have Q about the flushing...do you know how the flushing was done? did they use a special machine to do so or was it just draining out the pan? how much would it cost for flushing if not under warraty? appreciate your reply...
