Had to get rid of the old SH header and heat shield
and
Thank god all the bolts came right off and no broken/stripped studs
Okay now I know how horrible my valve cover looks, and trust me I didn't hear the end of it at the shop putting all this in, so im looking for a new one(whos selling?!)
Fit just fine
And unfortunately we had to 'persuade' some metal that didnt want to get with the program
Once we got it in, the down pipe/s doesn't sit too low at all -
Welded up the extender(included with the headers) to the flex pipe and then to the Spun Cat
Some more measuring and then the resonator found its new home
Had to cut off the old pipe from the muffler and put the 2.5" on it
Then took it all off to put all the proper welds in place
Mounted it all up once it was cool to touch and presto!
The sound at idle is almost non-existent, a few times i kept checking my Tachometer to make sure the car was running
I don't know if the sound is deep enough for me, however it doesn't sound like a fart can that's for sure!, I didn't engage the VTEC on the way home, i don't live that far away from the shop and as it took much longer to install and measure all that 2.5" piping than I expected and had an wifey waiting on me. I'm planning on letting the Lude warm up tomorrow morning and then taking it out for a spin on the turnpike. If I have the time tomorrow I'll take me camera and record the sound in the straight stretches of road adjacent our runway at the base.
I know the pictures aren't great quality but all I had was my droid so
I have almost the same setup. Different Carsound cat and different muffler. Same header, flex pipe, and resonator.

Paint your own valve cover, it is not hard at all lots of threads on it, did mine in wrinkle red to look like the red top valve covers and it came out awsome, a year later and still no flaking or cracks in the paint.
Yea just picked up a new VC for pretty cheap, been looking on more than a few sites for tips on doing this, figure with an extra VC i have all the time in the world to get it right. Then i'll just swap VCs and sell the old one. In the process of more than a few 'tasks' on my Lude (I should be doing my own thread im sure), but first and foremost im trying to clean up my engine a bit and take care of odds and ends under the hood. VC first on the list

after you swap, paint the old one before you sell it! might as well, sell it as a Type-S VC haha
Good to see you got your exhaust on. When am i gonna help you get your springs on?

Thanks! And nope no CEL codes for the sensors at all, used a spark plug non-fouler for the secondary o2 sensor, actually Ive always done this with my cars when i get them - hate getting codes for o2 sensors.
