I began to upgrade my engine when I found out that I had broken valve.
So, I decided to change the pistons, cams, springs and retainers, while my engine was open. I decided to go with crower stage II cams, crower springs and ti-retainers, and Type-S pistons w/ stock rings, and ferrea valves. (hope I made the right choices)
Crower stageII cams.
Top one is the stock cam and bottom one is the crower cam. Honestly, I can't really see the difference.
Ferrea valves.
Left one is Ferrea valve, and the right one is oem. Look how dirty the valve is.... but my engine was clean...
Type-S piston. Look at these two pictures below, the 1st picture and the 2nd picture. See the difference? Middle part is raised on Type-S piston.
My car is not done yet. So I don't have dyno sheet yet. Once it is done, I'm going to break-in the cams for 1000 miles, then I'll hit the vtec. Then I'll spray and see if everything will be ok or not. I think I need to get a vafc to tune the air/fuel mixture in order get most power out of my setup.

it involves pulling the head, undoing the tappet nuts you use to do the valve adjustments, then pulling both springs and retainers out putting the new ones in readjusting everything, then doing a valve adjustment again.

i think he sprayed N20 and then it didnt run right.sputter ing idle and loss of power
Exactly. Then I took my car to mechanic shop following morning, did compression test, and one cylinder has very little compression. I didn't exactly what was wrong with it until my mechanic too off my engine.

You need to have a special tool to replace springs and retainers. You have to use the tool to hold down the spring and take out 2 keepers. Keepers are the little black thing that holds the springs.

Thanks for the compliment. I was in a hurry, so I bought mine directly from crower. I got cams, retainers, and springs from crower. Valves from ferrea 888-733-2505. Type-S pistons from importdirect.com. Head gasket sets from local dealer. Piston rings and head bolts from hondaautomovtiveparts.com.
There is one thing that you should watch out for. When you are buying head gasket set, some dealer will tell you that head gasket itself does not come with head gasket set. BS. It comes with it. So, don't buy from a dealer that says you need to buy these seperatly. I would recommand buying from hondaautomotiveparts.com. They got the great price. Also, NOPI has best price for crower springs and retainers.
