is my car ready to fall apart or what?!

First it was suspension oriented groaning everytime i stopped when it was cold. Now (still very cold, @15 degrees), it makes a cracking noise from time to time when stopping and starting (associated with the pitch). What the hell is going on here? I had the CV joints checking at my 30k checkup, but nothing was found wrong (or should i say nothing reported to me). They just said they torqued the upper control arms. What could be making this noise? It sounds like my tranny is about to explode or something
