The TSB exists, I saw it a couple of years ago somewhere on the Internet. I believe a link to it was posted somewhere here.

If you have the time to spare, I say do it yourself.

The service is called for at 105k, by the way.
BTW you're wrong. on a 1998 the service was still at its old specs. the 105k didnt come about until 1999.

^^^ Send it to scgleeson@yahoo.com please. Thank you very much. I tried to find it on five different search engines and a half-hour searching this site with no luck.

That may be true, but a lot was lost in the upgrade and even more has been purged.

no, I took it in for a 'valve adjustment' (played blonde) and they called and said, hey this is your auto-tensioner...

it was a $100 co-pay for $1500 in work

So what'd they replace? T-belt, tensioner, and water pump all for $800 parts and labor?

You should have seen Joon525 and I trying that without the motor in the engine... PITA.

...and the balancer pulley bolt for the H22A4 and the H22A is DIFFERENT! So the H22A comes off easier... The H22A4 bolt is mong-huge by comparison.

A 1/2 impact gun did not take they f'er off...

Just as an update, took mine in for repair Monday.

Honda replaced the auto-tensioner and the T-belt under my extended warranty w/ $50 co-pay. I also had them replace the water pump, flush and refill the P/S and Brake fluids and they also replaced the P/S belt. Total came out to $526 and change. They also sent me a $100 gift card, so I got all that work done for $425.

Not too bad.

Scott, do you still have that TSB? Can you email it to me at pgarvin76@gmail.com.

I just ordered all the parts for my timing belt job. New timing & balancer belts, water pump, autotensioner and some other little odds and ends for $250.
