My 97 Prelude Project

I'm planning on fixing up my prelude with the next 2-3 month. My dad has offered to get my 1997 Honda Prelude Type SH repainted. I'm thinking of repainting it Nighthawk Black Pearl or some varient of black. Any ideas of a black that's better than Nighthawk Black Pearl? Could some one please post a nice pic of a prelude that still has a nice glossy Nighthawk Black Pearl? Thanx ^_^

I have a budget of around $2,000, my dad'll take care of the cost involve in painting.

Some of the mods on my list; I would appriate it if would give me some tips on what to buy

Definitely Going to Buy:
JDM Prelude Type S Fog Light Kit 220HP BB6 H22 Type S S Spec

JDM Prelude BB6 Type S "ATTS" Emblem (Front)

JDM Civic EK9 Type R 96-00 Prelude BB6 Side Markers

AEM V2

Nology Sparkplugs+Wires

Thinking about buying:
JDM Prelude Type S Front Lip Spoiler 220HP BB6 H22A S Spec (Nighthawk Black Pearl B82P)

JDM Prelude Type S RED Valve Cover 220HP BB6 H22A S Spec

Mugen Kit

Vis Eyelid

I'll try to take some pictures of my ride tomorrow ^_^

budget of 2000? screw all of that, get a cheap used JRSC for about 1000, use the rest for hondata used (500ish), and keep the 500 to cover tuning/misc. costs. I don't recommend going in with JUST 2k, but if you save another 500 or so, and had a good tune, you'd enjoy your car a lot more. just my 2 cents

edit: or if you want to keep going visual, you can have me build you a set of projectors

yeah but it's not really sold as "diffuser for prelude", it's more of a universal thing I believe, and people stick it on. it flows well with the mugen front, looks like crap otherwise IMO. don't have pics, but i know carol's lude has one girl-na-lude or something.

once again- think REALLY hard about all you're missing out on by blowing your 2k on a body kit, and appearance mods.

Thanks alot for the advice Emerald but I've thought it through already. My mindset is to tackle the exterior>interior>engine then sound. So maybe I'll get a super charger by this time next year ^_^ so for now, tell me how it feels

It feels awesome sitting in a box in my room, since I'm in college, and don't have any time to install it. And incidents like my hood flying back and smashing my sunroof, and placing a few dents in the top frame haven't helped the financial outlook either. I'll let you know this summer

What about suspension, you can spend about 500 and get an awesome kit [tokico]. That's a good performance/appearance mod. If you're going to have all this crap on your car, definitely going to need a drop.

I'm thinking about it but then again, I'm having a hard enough time getting into the garage already.

IMO.. Preludes look clean as they are already.. don't need no damn bodykit to make them look good.. if you're really itching to get a bodykit, spend it either on the OEM lip kit (I want one soo bad), WWRS kit (I have, but selling front and rear lips), or a mugen kit (which a lot of people have).. that sideskirt and spoiler you just posted up's soo damn ricer its not even funny.. but what can i do, we all have different tastes.. but that one's just nasty 2fast2furious like

If you are thinking about doing a bodykit in the beginning, you definitely need to work the suspension first before anything else....you do not want to roll around in a Prelude with a bodykit & high spoiler riding on stock height and wheels.

^^^^ hahaahah yeah.. exactly why preludes gets hated on sometimes because they are honda which is the company that produces civics that some people fcuking rice up with all the damn stickers that adds "magical" horsepowers... .. like this one civic.. i was at autozone parking lot tryina fix my friend's 240.. and this civic with graphics on the side with his girl in the car revved at me.. wow.. wtf..

You have $2000... be smart about it.. $2k's a lot of money.. if you want looks.. i'd definately drop the car first.. and thats it.. fcuk body kits get that later.. go b4 u show IMO.. but i have a feeling another prelude's gonna ricer up im liking some of the jdm stuff you want to get though

2000 bones, get an OEM lip kit and some suspension. then maybe the V2 because it's a nice intake.

I agree with the suspension if you are still on stock... I would also get the type S lip and maybe the fogs. Call it a day with the exterior and start saving for your interior or engine mods.
