Mugen Replica : if quality sucks...

If the quality is poor, why do it? I LOVE the look of the Mugen body kit. Like most people though, I choose not to spend $3000 on name-brand fiberglass(BEFORE it's even painted & shipped) to have a genuine Mugen kit. So, I think replica, right? Well, with all these horror stories about how every place you can get a replica kit sucks(VIS, REVTEC, etc.), and how the fit is horrible, why would I want to get one? The Prelude is all about quality and great fit, finish, and materials. Why buy a kit that goes against all that the Prelude is known for? Why would anyone want gaps all over their front bumper? I have a problem with "playing roulette with $500" - props to the PO member who used that phrase... The OEM is really nice, but not aggressive enough for me I guess. So I guess it has to be 'buy a replica kit and pay a body shop $1200 to paint it and fit it properly'. I am mechanically inclined, but from the stories everyone tells of how replicas fit bad, I think I'll have to pay the money to have a professional body shop do it. I was really hoping I could save the money and do it myself, but I think everyone's stories have made my mind up. PLEASE, SOMEONE TELL ME SOMETHING POSITIVE ABOUT A REPLICA !!!!!

its luck of the draw with replicas, sometimes they fit better than real one and sometimes they fit worse then real ones. it all depends on that specific one you have.

yeh, but still A LOT of people buying replica wheels too...just a took a like knockoff of the real racing wheel ...like konig stuff, for instance. its sad to see a great car with fake volkracing, for instance...but that's just the reality of it all. not everyone can afford the real thing and if that person is happy with the outcome, that's great. modding cars is all about satisfying the owner/driver of the car.

Yup, I might have to buy knockoff wheels cause I quite simply cannot afford to pay the Racing Hart CP-35 prices.
