I got a question about buying replica Mugen kits. Since I don't really have the money to buy original Mugen parts, I'm looking to buy the Mugen replica sides and the Mugen replica rear. Then maybe getting lucky and finding and OEM front lip. I'm going for the clean look. I've been looking around online, and I found various websites that offer the replica kits, but it doesn't seem that these replica kits fit flush.
For example Importfan.com offers the kit.. but the sides seem to have a gap once they are installed (Pay attention to the last picture)...
Also, It look as if the rear of this replica kit is a two piece set. Is that correct? I've always had the impression that the Mugen rear lip was one piece. (Again pay attention to the last picture).
Have any of your bought Mugen replica kits? Any problems that I should be aware of? Also, feel free to give me any suggestions as to quality online dealers that have these kits.
that's normal man....don't worry too much about it...my genuine mugen kit is exactly like that....check out this link http://www.nemesisracing.com/chauisgay/
oh and I'm not *** by the way..my stupid ass friend made that page....so blah....BTW my name is Allen..Chau is my vietnamese name....(this is to clear everything up with people that randomly IM me saying I thought you name is Allen)
What are some of the best Mugen replica kits? I've heard good things about the VIS kit, but I'm haven't come across any websites that sell it. I live in Rochester, NY, so finding a local dealer that sells quality kits is tough. Thanks again.

CAN you tell me what ROTORS you have and where you got them from and for how much. Also there has been debate on PO in another thread that sloted and cross drilled rotors tend to warp and crack. Have you noticed anything like that ... and also whats your driving style is like. Thanks

as for the rotor comment, i can contribute to this since i bought slotted/cross drilled rotors with aem pads, and there havent been any problems for me. and i tend to break a little hard. no signs of warping/cracking...

I thought the genuine Mugen kit was always supposed to be a perfect fit, or at least uber close? That front bumper looks like butt.
As for the Mugen rears, I thought it was one piece as well, but its actually two separate pieces. Sometimes people mold them to the rear bumper and it looks like one piece.

There's no such thing as a perfect fit..if you want a perfect fit then I suggest just keep the car stock...it's the equivalent of asking...."If I get a turbo kit, will it be smog legal?" As for the genuine Mugen rears...they are 2 seperate pieces NOT one full piece.

Those are some cheap ass brand of rotors I got back in like 1998 and I'm still riding on them....no problems at all....(and no my car is not a garage queen it's daily driven) Anyways..right now I have Brembo X-drilled rotors, NSX calipers, Project Mu pads, and Earl's SS lines with Motul 5.1 brake fluid...works like a charm I might add.

Thanks, Anyways as for you question...Really it's all on the hook up you have...In every batch of bumpers that come in there's always ones that do not fit right and just plain out looks bad. It's on the person that actually picks up the bumper for you and ships it out for you. But through experiences VIS bumpers are pretty nice, fitment is good and structure integrity is strong. GTP I heard good things from too...But like i said before there will always be rotten egg out of a batch. Most of the time, I usually pick the bumpers with the Orange-Yellowish primer on it. Those are the ones that usually fit well and are pretty strong. Whatever you do stay away from bumpers that you can pratically see through it in the Sun.
Oh by the way...the best way to see if a bumper is really strong and flawless in the fiberglass laying process is to sand everything down until you actually can start seeing through the bumper...from there you can start looking for parts of the bumper where there's air bubbles, gelcoat cracks, spider cracks, etc....

So you remember who makes them and where you got the from. Also Do brembo makes crossdrilled and slotted or just cross drilled? Where can i get a good price on brembo that are cross drilled at least and may be slotted as well.

If I remember correctly those rotors are KRP rotors...which are real Brembo stock blank rotors that they drilled and slotted. Anyways just another info, Brembo DOES NOT make drilled and slotted rotors, it's EITHER OR (drilled, slotted). Usually other 3rd party companies drill and slot rotors and sell it under the Brembo name.
