Mugen Exhaust - hanging issues

Ok I got a great deal on Mugen Exhaust from a guy locally, but I had to swap him my stock exhaust so he could sell the car. Has anyone had issues with the tip of the exhaust being too high? I have the OEM lip kit and the tip of the exhaust is touching the lip and starting to melt it

Were there replacement rubber hangers with the exhaust new? Anyone have issues with this?

Can't you just bend the hangers to give more room?

I just bought some rubber hangers from the local auto parts store and cut them to the appropriate length.

I bent the hangers as well. My lip suffered some damage before I did that though.

OK, not sure what u guys used to bend the hangers, but I pried on them and got as much leverage as I could manage and they barely moved a mm. Did you beat on them with a hammer or somethin? I swear mine are actin like you need a torch or somethin to bend them.

I got mine used and it barely touches the rear skirt on my OEM kit. I haven't noticed any melting at all.

*edit*

Mine is like pressing against the lip, and there is melting on there and now I have melted urethane stuck to the tip

Anyways, I am not gonna mess with cleaning it up until I can get the clearance issue fixed, I may try and by some larger rubber hangers like Lisa suggested.

I wedge some spare nuts in the existing hangers until it spreads enough that you get your clearance. Sounds dumb but I've done it before on my friends old S15 and there was never an issue.

I would take it to an exhaust shop and have them, heat/bend them for you. Prying on it too hard may damage the muffler can. I've had it done before and the guy didn't charge me
