MSD distributor cap......among other things??

This weekend is tuneup weekend for me, cant wait to get that havoline isht out of my car got some mobile 1 ready to go \o/ anyone know where i can find some seafoam in canada or an equivalent cleaner product to remove crap out of my engine before i switch oils, can i expect any problems going synthetic with a high mile car (260km)

So i went to the semi local tuner shop yesterday and ordered an MSD cap, rotor and thick wires for my 'lude and i was looking around forums to see what i could learn about these prior to asking and read that i need an msd coil as well for it all to work. My question is what are you guys running/would you run for your coil, just a blaster 2? Do i have to use an aftermarket coilor will the stock one work? I have a bit of cash to spend so getting a coil is no big deal. Thanks for the help also not as important but Im looking at getting a msd 6AL but read that they dont work so great with iridium plugs does anyone have any experience with this? does it really make that big of a difference? or should i just ditch the plugs and go with some copper ngks when i get the unit?

the stock ignition system on these cars is really good! Guys have been putting a lot of HP through stock coil, cap and wires...in this case, stock is best.

I have the msd cap and rotor and like the quality of it!!! No you don't have to change out the coil for it to work.

+1

I know some ppl were talking about the low quality that is MSD. I've never personally used it.

Being that I just use the prelude to soak up miles between work and home, I also belong to ls1tech. Over there, many guys have had issues with the MSD coils. Everything from no start conditions, to failing under load or shorting out. Many shops won't even use the msd stuff anymore because the quality is so bad, not to mention that the stock LS1 coils don't suck ( and neither does the prelude coil)

Poopy stuff im reading here

Ive never read anything bad about msd myself but i think ill defer to popular opinion here and just stick with what ive already ordered and spend some cash on something else for the car instead. Thanks for the replies guys.
