Ive searched and only found links and info showing how to install the Blaster 2 coil with a MSD box. I need to know the wiring instructions with just the Blaster 2 coil and stock ignition.
To the OP, dont try to install the blaster coil without the msd box, if you do you will end up blowing your ecu. The stock coil draws a lower amount of poweer then the blaster 2 coil, so if you do not have the box then it will slowly fry your ecu.
Is this really what passes for help around here???
You unplug your stock ignition coil and remove it, you will notice on the harness you just unplugged that there are 3 wires running into it. One is Black and Yellow, one is Yellow and one is Green. You'll need to use 3 female speaker connectors to extend the wires from the harness tp your Blaster Coil. Once you have done this, you connect the yellow and yellow and black wires to the positive terminal on the MSD Blaster and the Green to the negative. This will allow it to function just like your stock coil. I hope this help, i had this set-up for like 3 years and never fried an ECU.
whats the scoop on the MSD flavored hateraid??.....i have a cap, rotor and wires, hadnt noticed anything harmful so far? i also have the 6al and the blaster 2 coil but i didnt put it one as i didnt want to get rid of the stock coil.(i was just looking for base price really...lol)?
Eventually unless you stop at I/H/E upgrading your ignition will become necessary. Im sure there are tons of people with just insane horsepower running the stock ignition set-up, but i also know that if you look on the mods list of almost any properly done high horsepower car, you'll find an MSD ignition set-up. I dont get it either, i could look at the mods list of anybody on PO and pick apart the stuff they have that they dont need that doesn't serve a purpose or benefit them in anyway.

whats up with the msd??
The MSD hate is due to the stock coil putting out more than enough power. It is just a waste to put a blaster on the prelude.

LOL, okay I'll explain.
I don't like MSD because they have a very high failure rate. It's like in Xbox territory. I argue this with people all the time, and I offer proof: Go watch the 1st season of the show Pinks. There are 2 different episodes where one of the cars craps out because of an MSD product breaking (on camera!). There is actually a 3rd episode somewhere in season 3 or something too, but if you're not a Pinks fan you won't want to sit through them all. You can bet I was laughing my ass off the whole time. Justice baby!
My personal experience is about 75% failure. I never used them myself, but knew plenty to did. Most of them failed within a year.
If you want an ignition upgrade, I recommend buying M&W. If you can't afford that, then Crane is good.

Blaster 2 Coil is too much voltage for stock, or lightly modded cars. I figured it couldn't hurt. Whops. My cap, rotor burned, and wore out quickly. I think I had the whole system on my car for maybe 2 weeks before it started causing issues. It's cheap junk in my book. I kept my wires, but reverted everything else back to stock.
