motor sits higher

well I swapped my h22a4 motor for a jdm h22a. well after the swap the engine sits higher. anyone else ever have this problem. I used all original motor mounts except on side motor mount because i got them mixed up and didn't want to have to take the timing belt off after i noticed they are pretty much identically exept for the width of one bolt. when i close the hood it feels like it barely touching the valve cover. any one had this problem after motor swap?

You sure it sits higher? Or something wrong?

Did you use the mounts off of the jdm engine? How do your axels line up.

the axcels line up fine. at least the passenger side. driver side unsure because i had an sh tranny. which i found out manually you cant mount with a non sh motor. so i got a base model tranny with a newly installed quiafe. I got to check the preload on more time. shims are coming in this wednesday so i should be installing the base trans this week. the jdm motor didn't come with all the motor mounts. I used the a4 motor mounts. I'm sure the motor sits higher because when I use to close the hood I could here it click when I shut it. now the cleareance is so tight I don't hear a click. but the hood is closed alll the way.

also all axcels have been sitting on jack stands for a while. the front longer than the back. I also replaced the front motor mount since it got torn when we pulled the motor out. or from some other shop not a 100 on that one. well knew mount from a f22a. bout it off ebay, but it was a rockauto brand and i checked the part number same as a h22a4. don't know if that helps i got a h22a. i;ve heard the bolt up patterns are the same. I guess I will find out when i drop the car onto its wheel/ axcels.

well i think i found out why the hood didn't click when is was closed. the vaccum hose for the windshield wipers wasn't connect and was in the path of the hood. Also switching in the base model trans for the h22a seemed like it might helped the seating. not really sure if it made a difference. tomorrow it will be sitting on wheels for the first time in a long time.
lol, also I pulled one of the headlights out of the car so I could see inside of the engine bay when the hood was closed and I got about an inch of clearance from the hood to valve cover. so maybe it sitting high was all in my imagination since i haven't seen my motor inside my engine bay in so long. also because it's sitting on jack stands. I finished putting the new trans in today and engine bay looks pretty good. So false alarm I think so, lol. I'll post a photo this week,
