More warranty questions

All right I posted a while ago about screwing my self over by misshifting. Now this has basically turned into Hond trying to screw me over. Im probably not going to pursue it because It was MY fault, but I just wanted to rant about how the dealer has treated me. First I drop it off and the FIRST service rep that takes the car in is all nice and all. FIRST thing that she tells me is that since you have mods warranty is possibly not gonna cover it. Im all ok you dont even know what the problem is! Then Im all ok I left it there and the next day she calls me and says it probably just needs a valve adjustment but warranty will not cover it because as she said I had NO oil left in my engine. Im all WTF cuz I know I had at least 3 quarts. Then she called the next day and said that the valve adjustment did not help so they have to do the next thing up. A timing and compression test. Charged me another $100 for that plus $100 for the valve adjustment plus $160 for the initial check up. Im all "ok". Then she said one of the cylinders is low on compression so then she does a leak down test and charges another $100 for that now my bill is close to $500. Nothing figured out yet. Then I take my mom down to the dealership and speak to the head srvice rep. He now tells us that there were at least 3 quarts left in the engine, which clearly conflicted with the 0 oil that the first lady told us. Then he started spewing BS to me about how it was because I drove the car hard etc... the only thing that they based this on is the bald tires. This not only gave them reason to void my warranty but this also gave my mom reason to be very pissed at me. Another WEEK passes and they send the head to the machine shop and charge like 900 for that and then find out that i had 8 bent vavles. The guy that took over the car the new serivce rep now said that the intake might have caused this to happen... And he said some **** to my mom about me driving the car too hard and what else would you expect to happen... My mom gets even more pissed. We now find out that the damage is what caused the oil to burn and that is why the oil was low. Basically they were looking for any reason to void my warranty. My bill is now up to $2200 and I will finally (after over 3 weeks) get my car back tomorrow. Since most of this convo went through my mom so Im gonna go down there tomorrow and find out from this guy EXACTLY why they voided my warranty.

my extended warranty was voided as well due to my intake......you probably read my other posts

i feel you, i seriously, utterly, completely, wholly, sympathize, empathize, and everything else.......i know how it feels

past two weeks have been filled with frustration and anger.....just can't believe the dealers would put their customers through something like this

my warranty was voided because my transmission failed......in the exact words of the rep i talked to........because the performance modification (intake only) caused the user (me) to drive the car in a way it was not meant to be driven, leading to abuse of the vehicle by the user which caused the shift forks to bend and the fifth gear synchro to be worn down

although this is a common problem many prelude owners are having.......i get stuck with the service bill of $1600 and a NULL extended warranty which i payed close to $1500 for? great honda.....just great

How many years / miles do you have on the car?

They cannot void the warranty on your car without proving that it caused the problem. Check here for more info regarding your warranty:
http://www.sema.org/content/?id=22237

However, the warranty does not cover misshifts and other types of abuse (i.e. racing). If the car has 10,000mi on it and you're running on bald stock tires, I suppose they have some argument there to prove that you've been racing.

Best of luck.

it didn't matter if the dealer was cool or not...they called honda care and honda care had a 3rd party representative come and inspect the vehicle and decide whether or not warranty would cover it...therefore no matter what dealer i would've chosen to go to the end result would have been the same

finally got my car back... Im so extatic that I dont even care (right now) that I had to pay $2200 to get it back... Anyway the guy basically told me that the mechanics could not find a single way that 8 valves could have been bent because of a manufacturers defect. Basically I couldnt really argue with him because I couldnt think of a way to rebuke that. Im gonna look through the warranty to see if there is anything that I could do. Seriously thought the ****ers scratched my fender and my mirror. But I got them to take care of that. And now my Check engine light is on constantly and there is a slight burning smell coming from the engine. Thinking they might have over titened something. If this **** doesnt go away by friday Ill be there again.

Oh yeah one more question, I already asked this, but didnt get many responses, plus Ive gotten conflicting info since. Do I have to break in my new valves for any period of time? I asked the service rep this and he said no. He said I can drive how ever I wnat so I dunno what to do. Thanks for the replys.
