well pretty much anything NON STOCK voids it. But It all depends on a dealer. Some dealers may be like whatever about it and say the mods are fine AS LONG nothing will breaks due to mods. Basically the SEMA states that waranty may not be voided unless the dealer can proove that a specific mod caused the failure of something. So lets say if your throtle body broke...they can claim that AEM CAI intake caused it, which would make legitamate claim..if they can prove it. But stating that just because you got different radio head unit or rims or exhaust on your car caused throtle body to break is complete BS. Thats simply a dealer who wants to jack you. Trust me they do this all the time those bastards..other will tell you. Some people who dont mod their cars complain about the STOCK parts to break and dealer still says it was the owners fault...WTF is that all about I have a loose heat sheald tht makes a sqeaking noise...the dealer claimed that it was my intake that caused something in the engine to malfunction and i voided my waranty. I know for a fact its the heat shield and they still telling me its my engine. NOW YOU SEE HOW DEALERS WANNA F YOU OVER
Most important ....those Honda tech mornons dont even know what the F--K they are doing...have the time they break **** on your car and tell you that you did it. Ask any HONDA TECH..whats the proper torque specs on lets say suspension .....they'll look at you like you are from another planet. Thats cause they dont care what they are doing they worry more about how many cars they can turn in and out in one day.
MY OPINION: its hard but find a mechanic who reallly knows what the hell he is doing and actually cares about the car he works on or cares mostly about your car.

Sorry for a long post

http://preludeonline.com/showthread....threadid=50164

this is why i'm asking....

just worried they'll try to put the blame on me.....we took the car in......the tranny was fine then it was just the clutch fluid that was out so we go back the next day and the reverse gear is broken so they say......ok......we'll check to see if your warranty covers it and then we'll fix it ( i was like.......uh.......ok........you broke it but you want the warranty to cover? ......... ) well they contact us and they say "great, it's covered we'll start work on it once the parts come and the car should be done by friday"........friday rolls around,,,, they havent called for a week......call them......."sorry, we have to see if its covered under the warranty so we'll need a honda care representative to come down and take a look and give us the all go"

NOW WTF IS THAT!??!!?!?! my car has been out for 2 weeks.......TWO WHOLE WEEKS and no work has been done to it whatsoever........they broke it........and they try to use warranty to cover and they even MENTION that i have modifications

seriously.......i hate dealers........i wish there were some dealers up on this board reading this so i can tell you guys how ****TY your service is

DEALERS ARE THE TOOL OF THE DEVIL---THE TOOL OF THE DEVIL I TELL YOU...
How you think they make money. Mostly on the service and then selling cars. It seems to me that this whole board had some sort of problem with a dealer at one point.....and we are only a few. Now imagine all those other out there that...had the same thing happen to them and they dont do DiCK. I'm telling you some of these people should get together and do a classaction suit against them. Seems like its getting out of hand more and more.

My dad owns infiniti...and when i take it to service for him....they have a huge waiting area....with coffee (fresh brewed coffee...no sanka or folgers crap) Bagel, cream cheese, candy nice flufy couches. I MEAN THATS SERVICE right there. Then they are like all over me ...oh you need help or you need this...is everything ok with the car. So i just come up with some stuff just for them to check it out and be like yeah its ok . THEY EVEN GIVE YOU A LOANER CAR to drive around if you dont want to wait. WHICH i beat the crap out of when i get a chance. When you buy a cheap car you get cheap service. I heard some lady come in to honda when i was there and they told this lady she needs new breaks rotors front and rear and flush this and change this...i'm like what year is the car she was like its a 2000. with only like 15,000 miles on it. I'm like lady they are taking you for a ride....but she didnt care she thought the dealer was god and i was trying to F--L with her head.

every dealer is different. here in san jose, the honda i bought my lude from offers a performance shop, which means performance parts. i do not know if this has to do with voiding the warranty or not, but the tech told me that as long as the aftermarket part did not cause the problem, the warranty is still in tact, and it will NOT be voided. however, there are limitations. they said that FI will void some of the warranty. like lets say your intake (example) caused a problem. only the intake part of the warranty will become voided. the typical bolt ons (intake, header, exhaust, pullies) should not void the warranty. i think that the VAFC and stuff like that would void the warranty, but just hide the unit is what people advised me
