Mist/Steam coming from AC vent

I was on my way to the GLPO meet and I noticed mist/Steam coming from AC vent. When I turned off the AC it stopped. It doesn't smell or anything..Also the underhood area smells like soldering iron, but is probably unrelated. AC seems to work fine but just didn't want to make anything worse so I haven't used the AC since then. Did a search and it could be THIS
Any ideas/thoughts/comments?
Thanks,
-Jason

that's it. I used to be in the navy, working on H-60 Seahawk helocopters. When they cranked up the AC, it was so strong that on a hot, moist day, you wouldn't be able to see the pilots sitting in the cockpit because of all the condensation blowing out of the vents.

It's nothing to worry about; the worst thing that could happen is mildew in the ductwork (although not very likely). if that happens, run the heater for a minute befor you shut it down to dry everything out.

mine does this too- it means you have a very good A/C unit!

Yep its the humidity in the air. I've had that happen in my 00 civic and now the 01 prelude.

My car does this all the time down in Florida. I thought there was something wrong at first but then realized it was no biggie.

wow... i was wondering about that... i took the ac out of the 96 when i got it about 5 years ago... so in january i bought a beater (by beater i mean something i wont mind keeping all the creature comforts in) a 92 4ws... ac was dead and about a month ago i replaced all the rubber washer/seals and converted it over to r134... if i hadnt done the jdm CC swap i probably would have put this off for a while, but i wanted to play with the jdm cc so i went ahead and fixed the ac...

it had been so long since ive had ac i thought i did something wrong in the conversion cause the first night i turned it on after i charged it i was in the mcdonalds drive through, then all of a sudden it was like i was up in the clouds in a jet or something....

any way since then it has only done it once... good to know nothings wrong with the ac tho

yeah I think it is kinda cool. I think it is the dew point or something like that. The vents are cold and the moisture comes out of the air. I notice it only when in "Fresh" air mode. Pop the recirculate on and it goes away...
