Misshifting

What results in bad misshift? I missifted twice on my car already readlining at 3rd gear and going back to 2nd. My 5th gen has almost 29k miles in less than 2 years. Now my engine is making a whining noise. It also makes clicking noise when I press on the clutch. Also my gears wouldn't engage anymore. My clutch feel very light as air. My lude is injured now. Anyone know what's wrong with it?

Yes, YOU'RE driving it.

All kidding aside, you need to get that into a shop for some warranty work while you can.

I would strongly suggest that u take it to the dealership before the warranty expires. My 97 has 63K miles and the clutch pedal is clicking, but i think its just the spring. My 5th used to only grind when i would shift above 6K in 4th to 5th (wasn't a big prob at the time), last week i did a harsh misshift from 2nd to 3rd, now i can't get into 5th above 50 mph!! When i shift from 4th to 5th, i have to push the clutch in, let the rpms drop to idle, then put it in 5th, it REALLY sucks. So, i would agree with 5Gen_Prelude and take it in before its too late.

You probably did some valvetrain damage, but it's a good time to upgrade. Good luck to you.

misshifting could cause valve damage, i've seen it happen.

My 4th gear was kinda messed up to begin with. Only my 4th gear had problems engaging at very high speed sometimes. But some of you might not know how these gears can trick you when they go bad. Mines can slip right into 2nd with ease, making you think it went to 4th. I know I'm not a bad shifter at all. I don't have this problem before. O well, I'll just take back to the dealer and see what's up. But I do have a feeling that I messed it up bad.

kinda sounds like you exploded your clutch. If you can't grab a gear, except when the car is off, you exploded it.
