Well,

I went back just to make sure the injector is firing... and there are no misses.

I pretty confident that it's not electrical.

I ordered some BG 44K and I'm going to probably try that as well. My buddy over at honda has seen the ports get clogged on specific ports and have that cause misfires.

Though it's a long shot, I figure I'll give it a try.

If that doesn't work, I'll swap the IM... (Since I just took Todd up on his IM.)

Update #3400553:

So, I started searching more about #1 misfires to see if I'm the only person having this problem.

One fellow had a sticky EGR valve that would only cause an occational misfire on #1. It took him 4 months to figure it out!

I just drove the car around a bunch and it did not MIL.

A usual, it's to soon to tell for sure. ..but this may have solved the problem.

I did have another (relatively new) EGR valve on the 4th Gen IM that came with the H22A.

I compared the ease with which the needle in the valve opened and closed. My original one was not only loaded with crap, but it also was difficult to move. The one from the 4th Gen (having about 30k on it) moved without issue and wasn't all that dirty.

Cleaning my original one did not help it in any way mechanically.

It may be that it was slightly open... it's hard to tell... but it was certainly a little sticky.

Oddly, I assumed it would code? Guess not...

Part of me is wondering if this has to be a combination of factors:

- H22A is higher compression (would that matter?)
- Closed deck on the H22A would effect NOx emissions...

It official:

The problem was the EGR valve.

The car is no longer throwing codes.

I want to thank you all for your help!

I also ran BG 44k through the engine's IM to clean it out... and the car runs fantastic!

I'll keep you posted should anything else show up!

The odd thing was that it was only causing a misfire on #1...
