this might be a problem..

well i finally did it, i bought all the parts to do a h22 hydro tensioner to a h23 manual tensioner. i started at 10 am today and finished around 2pm.

at first startup everything seemed fine. then i start hearing this loud screech. sounded like belts too tight or something, i checked the ps and alt, they were good. so i was like "@^$&* then i see a little of smoke creeping out the timing cover. then i'm like "DIEW" (thats chinese for $#^&*) so i decided to change the oil and filter and not drive the car till next week till i have to work on it again.

so any ideas anyone? anyone run into the same problem?

so far i've must have the worst luck with a prelude

SS tranny failure: 23k miles
2nd SS tranny failure (rebuilt): 29k miles
shock knock: around 30k miles
auto tensioner: now 38k miles
ball joint: starting to feel it!
