I was doing some inside led wiring. just a simple wire to a fuse, taillight fuse to be exact. got it hooked up and everything was working. Cranked the car and the e-brake light is semi lit up, and the battery light is on. The e brake is engaged even though i have it let down. The car is an automatic and on the dash, everything lights up except D4. so P,R,N,D3,D2, and D1 all light up, but no D4. The shifter is also stuck in park, I have to push the plastic thing down to get it unstuck, and i can shift through gears. The e brake does not effect D1, D2, D3, or R. I have no idea whats wrong. Please help meh!!
I also un-did the wiring and it is still messed up.
My speedometer also reads 0 even when im going, all other meters are working fine.

simple test, start the car, disconnect the battery while the car is running. hit the brakes/turn headlights on. the car should run fine if the alt is fine. hook the battery back up, turn car off, disconnect alternator. start the car up and do the same: brakes/headlights.
alt wire as in the negative? i dunno what the alt wire is. And everything was running fine with the new battery for a couple of days. I just randomly gave me this problem. I had the led hooked up at one location. Un-hooked it. Drove to a different location, hooked it back up. cranked the car. BAM. big problem
and just another quick check make sure ALL fuses under the drivers side are intact (remove and inspect) sometimes you can't tell they're ok by just looking at them. This is important. Also check the fuses under the hood.
it may be more than one problem. you said you just replaced the battery so i'm betting something came loose. it's easier to check very big things then narrow it down.
Ok, ill check all the fuses. I did a simple looking check, I did not remove all of them. And where do I unplug the alternator? I have never messed with that before =/
the alternator charging wire is the black wire that goes over the valvecover. ensure this wire DOES NOT TOUCH any metal (disconnect the neg batt cable when doing this!!!!) otherwise you'll weld the connector to anything that's metal haha. I think it's a 10mm but it's the only wire on the alternator that isn't a connector (3prong green connector is the other connector iirc).
Alright, well it cant be the battery problem, because I have turned the car on and off about 10-15 times, if it was that weak it wouldnt have cranked that many times. Ill check the fuses. Im praying thats the problem =(
