When the car is new, or the Maintenance Required Indicator has been reset, it is green. I think it turns yellow around 3750 miles. (The manual just says it turns yellow when the distance driven since the last schedules maintenance (reset) nears 7500 miles) After 7500 miles, it turns red. You reset this indicator by inserting the key in the slot next to the indicator. (You dont have to push hard.)

Its not a stupid question, if you didnt ask, how would you know?

RTFM! ok ok, to put it in a nice way, the information is in the owner's manual.

It's not a light.. just an indicator that moves over according to the distance travelled. It is not a sensor or anything like that.
