Lost Second Gear

Hello everyone, well its been a while since i was able to drive my prelude.
First off I just got my transmission rebuild from aamco. Got a 1 year warranty on the tranny, also they changed my clutch and throw out bearing. Short story short about a month after my warranty was up my throuw out bearing went out. Was on my way to my friends shop and tryed to go into second gear and nothing just sits there any help would be appreciated. my car is a 1998 Honda prelude base model h22a4 5-spd.

Only way to know and fix it is to disassemble the transmission.

exactly...If you lived here in the DFW area, I know the perfect person to fix your tranny the right way. I've had both of mine fixed, and no issues at all in over 3 years and counting

yes you can get just the 2nd gear parts by themselves. I've had to do the same with one of my trannies. I bought an actual OEM gear though from majestic honda

You'll definitely need to check everything. If it wont go into gear at all then something either in the gear selection assembly or possibly a bent fork is causing it. You need to get the Helms service manual and make sure the gear select mechanism is ok, check the fork for 1st/2nd and the synchronizer sleeve. If it's the outer sleeve then replacing the entire sleeve set is needed, dunno why people waste time buying just the brass rings from aftermarket companies when that is only 1 out of the 6 parts that make up a synchronizer.
