I paid 1600 for my t2w4 and it came with jsut under 13,000 kilometers on it. I enjoy it very much, however, a correctly rebuilt m2y4 with a good lsd can be much better. I think it depends what you goals are. The t2w4 is definetly awesome though.
How much more you guys think im looking at price wise if I go with a U2Q7 or a T2W4? Its at $1200 now for everything needed for the swap, just with a stock tranny. Also how about these trannys...T2T4, M2T4 & M224...would they be cheaper, more or the same price & same performance?
@BB6 its $1200 before shipping, with shipping it comes to $1375 and im in FL...thats pretty damn good.
The t2t4 is a good trans as well. The u2q7 is the closest geared of them but is also teh hardest to find. The t2t4 comes out of the F20B Sir accord, great trans put on a not so great engine. The price difference for the t2w4 should only be about 600 more than the full swap price HMO gave you. Ask them what they would charge to include a better trans. I know at oen point i bought form them a T2T4 for a freind of mine out in wetaskiwin and they only chraged me 900 for the t2w4.
As for the U2Q7l i have never came across anyone with this trans for sale, as if i did i would have bought it for sure.
^Only recently seen someone for the first time asking questions about it posting that they had one swapped in, super rare.
T2T4 is decent, has same gearing as a base 5g if I'm not mistaken just comes with a torsen helical LSD, wouldn't pay too much for it since it's gearing isn't anything special.

Gotcha...so you guys are basically saying the T2W4 & the U2Q7 are the cream of the crop. Both of these are out of an Accord with a 2.2L correct? And again is there risk, if any, with choosing one of these over the stock trans to put on my lude with 135K? Just don't want to put more stress on the engine and whatnot. I don't beat on it at all but again like I wrote earlier, a little more kick would be nice just as long as its not going to shorten the overall life of the vehicle.
It wont hurt it at all, only thing I'm unsure of because I've never tried it is if your old automatic speed sensor will swap over as the one from a T2W4 won't work since the CL1 that it came out of has electric power steering. I used my old speed sensor but my car was already 5spd, I'll have to ask my buddy at work today since I've never tried to see if auto and manual are any different.

I swapped an M2A4. The VSS gear and electric pick up from the auto work but the bolt holes don't line up. I bought just the body, no gear or pick up, from Majestic for around $15. No other issues.
I have had m2y4, m2b4, as well as the t2w4, and all times i used the VSS that came on the transmission. I have never had to remove and chaneg out any of the sensors on the transmissions.
The cheapest route is to have a m2y4 and replcae the diff with lsd and change out synchros and possibly gears if needed. A whole setup to rebuild the transmission should be aroun 800-1300 depending on LSD quality and "Hookup price". Usually the lsds are the more expensive part, however i have seen gear sets go for a huge amount as well.

The speed sensor that came with my T2W4 wouldn't work and was different, didn't have the PS lines going to it, heard from others too that theirs was like that, maybe someone swapped yours before you bought?
A custom build would be most ideal but after looking into doing it to my M2S4 it would have cost more than just buying the T2W4.

That is my main concern if everything on the swap trans will work with my auto lude (vss, starter etc.) don't want any headaches. Hmotors said everything is included that I need, just want to make sure if I have to use anything of the old auto trans...as far as I know the only thing you have to change around a little is the wiring harness and the ecu according to this...
