Long term damage?

Can the AEM underdrive pullies cause long term damage? I was all set to get them until a buddy of mine told me that they will eat up your engine. He mentioned that they take power from the oil pump, which in return will hurt the engine. Is any of this true? If so, what else and how does it actually damage the engine?

i agree with OneLudeDude, the accesory pulleys will only lenthen the life of your accesories and put less effort on the motor to turn the pulleys.
