Hey just wanted to confirm before i order. I bought a 2001 prelude with missing side skirts and the front and rear bumper are all messed up from previous owner. I have to order new oem front and rear bumpers but i'm for sure putting on a lip kit.....does the sides in a lip kit replace or go ontop of stock sides? also does the rear lip cover or replace that little lip that is stock?

anyone know a cheap place to get bumpers?

any lip kit replaces stock lip kit. The sides are also replaced. Nothing goes on top of anything.

Check ebay, craigslist for bumpers. Maybe junkyards too, but i doubt there will be any 5th gens there. Make sure to be ready to paint the bumpers, unless u get really lucky and find matching pairs. Even if they are the same color as your car, they might still not match because paint changes color overtime, and it also all depends what climate the bumpers are from. So it might not even be an exact match.

the wwrs rear uses the stock rear piece to mount to.

If you purchase cheap ebay knockoffs - the sides and rear lip (no matter what style you purchase) will need to be attached to your old (stock) sides and rear lip's.

Mugen rear valances - be it replica or legit - mount to the rear stock lip.

OEM lip kits replace the stock side and rear lips.

There is not a lip on the front stock - so any lip you intend to install on the front requires you to follow the simple instructions included with purchased lip.


- Those are the only ones I have personal experience with, so i know how they're installed. But there are many other styles out there to choose from that other members know how to install properly.
