What? bull****. that's just like saying ill drain 1/4 of my engine oil and then fill it up with 1/4. Im still left with 3/4 worth of crap oil. Soooooo drain the fkn thing fully and fill it back up fully. make sure you put the correct amount of oil in. And make sure you let it lube itself up for a little while don't go drive it straight away let it sit for a little bit.

now as far as the swap goes.....i would love to do it as soon as possible, but things are a little hard right now...can it be done for less than 2k?

he's talking about the power flushes. he is saying to drain it fully and then fill it, and a month later do that process again.

OP
i think you can do a swap for under 2k if you can do a lot yourself. look for partouts in the classified section. you need a lot of stuff off a manual. there's threads that tell you everything you need.

This is the proper procedure stated in the HELMS. For an AUTO trans.
The entire system is 6.5 qts
When you pull the drain plug - only 2.5-3 qts will come out.
Then you top it off, and drive it around the block a few times (so it can shift through all of the gears a few times).
And then drive it back home and do a drain and fill again.
This is what the Honda dealerships do when you pay them for transmission service.

Honda ATF should be good enough - it's all I've ever used in any previous Honda/Acura I've owned. You can try an additive - opinions are likely to vary on which additives work best if at all. In the past, I've used BG Automatic Transmission Conditioner Plus (ATC+) - BG is better known for 44k fuel system cleaner.

Congrats on your Lude If you like the auto, you will love it in a 5 spd for sure. How many miles are on it?

F/S 4th Gen: Jim's 1992 Prelude Chop Shop Delight - Preludepower.com

$400 shipped for all the manual swap parts - just need to find a tranny. Which can't cost too much from homotors, or there is a tranny on that site for $700 i think.

Get out of the auto as fast you can one way or another... Either sell the car while it still appears to drive fine or drive it till your tranny blows (which sounds like it will happen soon) and do the famous 5 speed swap! Best of luck to you, keep us posted! If you think your car is quick/fun to drive now then you will be very happy in a 5 speed. The difference is absolute night and day.

I got a good 5 speed with a LSD you can get for $700 obo. It works great, has new diff bearings too.

I manual swap will afford you the ability to modify it further later and also make it worth more money that it would ever have been worth as an automatic. If I were looking for another lude, no matter what year, I would still look for a manual even if it had problems.
