My turn to join the noise forum. My '98 base has a SSHHIIFFTTIINNGG noise coming from the front passenger side. My wife felt a vibration in the footwell area toward the cars' center. I thought that it was a heat shield but everything is secure. The noise occurs as I start from a stop(not at every stop) and if I rev the engine I hear a faint rattle. Help??

this car makes more bumps, rattles, groans and squeaks than any other car i've ever owned....including a rx8 and an old chevelle!

mine makes a slapping sound in the rear passenger side when going up speed bumps.

ever try to record the sound?
