Kissed my 2nd gear good bye, yesterday

Well went to the track to run the car yesterday and on the third run went to shift to 2nd and there was nothing but another neutral gear So, I'm thinking of getting a JDM Type-S tranny, anyone know where you can get them resonable priced or how much they usually go for?? I'm planning on rebuilding mine but would rather be able to take my time with rebuilding it and have my car running with a different tranny for the time being.

If you're going JDM get the SiR S-Spec-it has LSD.

JDM Type S = USDM Type SH-it has ATTS.

But good luck finding one.

LunaticLude

Thanks, I was wondering about that after I had already posted it, thanks again saves me a big expensive order/mistake. I might just be rebuilding mine if I can't find anything soon though, almost got it out today just need a friend or two to come help me drop it down and i'll be looking inside to see what else got damaged, hopefully nothing. Well a guess a good thing is I won't have to worry about 5th gear grinding again if I rebuild it

No prob man, just promise to help me when I get ready to do my 5-spd swap.

That is why I'm on top of the JDM tranny types and I know the SiR S-spec is super rare and really not worth importing( unless you have the SS) if you already have the 5-spd I'd say rebuild and put a Quaife LSD in that bad boy!

No more Peg-legged burn outs-especially with your JRSC

Good Luck

No the sarcasm was taken wrong here......I was just saying why buy a JDM Type S tranny when it's just the same as a USDM SH tranny.

I'd lop off a pinky finger to get a 5-spd.

Not dissing manuals in any way-just saying why import what is already here??
