Keep my RSX Type S wheels? Or sell them and buy these?Take a look!

Hey everyone. I always like the opinion of my fellow luders and want to make a pretty big decision. I have been thinking about it for a while now. Ok......I love my 06 RSX Type s wheels, but I think it may be time for a change, here is what it looks like now.....crappy photo but you get the idea....

So....should I:
1. Keep these wheels and not change a thing....
2. Sell my RSX wheels and get these...Tenzo R Type-M Version 2....They are 18x8 with a 45mm offset all the way around
3. OR AGAIN sell my RSX wheels and get 45mm offset for the front and get the 25 or 37mm offset for the rear.
Here are the Wheels, pictured wheels are 19's but you get the idea:

ANY ADVICE ON THIS DECISION WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!

18x8's will rub...a lot.

I think the RSX wheels go with the whole clean factory looking mods theme of your car. Those big blingin rims just don't follow that theme. Just my opinion..

I agree with you brother, but I want a change. I have seen plenty of people on PP run 18x8 and even 18x9. With the right offset any 18s will work. Maybe some slight fender rolling to help the process though bro. any suggestions or pics for 17s send them to me!

I could see 18x8's possibly working with a high offset, fender rolling, and stock ride height setup, but as for 18x9....I will believe that when I see it.

My 18x7.5" +42 offset wheels already rub on the back of the front wheel wells when turning. If a ran an 8" wide wheel, It would rub on the fender AND the wheel well. There just isn't enough space in the wheel wells to accommodate such a wide wheel without rolling the fenders WAY out.

This does not even take into account the limited availability of tires that will fit, the high price of those tires, the threat of always being one pot-hole away from a bent wheel, crappy ride quality....I could go on.

Afe--The second choice looks great, but indy has a great point whether they will fit.

Here is some important info

originally posted by: Ottawa Prelude Club
OFFSET:
6.5" Wide Wheels w/ 4th & 5th Gen
Less than +38mm ::: You take the chance of rubbing the outside lip of the wheel well.
+38mm to +55mm ::: You shouldn't have any problems. Recommended Offsets for 6.5" Wide Wheels.
Larger than +55mm ::: You take the chance of rubbing the inside lining of the wheel well.

7" Wide Wheels w/ 4th & 5th Gen

Less than +38mm ::: Not Recommended
+38mm to +41mm ::: Not Recommended if you are, or plan to be, lowered. You take the chance of rubbing the outside lip of the wheel well.
+42mm to +44mm ::: This is a grey area if you are lowered, results vary depending on tire and/or drop. You take the chance of rubbing the outside lip of the wheel well.
+45mm to +50mm ::: You shouldn't have any problems. Recommended Offsets for 7" Wide Wheels.
Larger than +51mm ::: Not Recommended. You take the chance of rubbing the inside lining of the wheel well.

7.5" Wide Wheels w/ 4th & 5th Gen

Less than +40mm ::: Not Recommended
+40mm to +43mm ::: Not Recommended if you are, or plan to be, lowered. You take the chance of rubbing the outside lip of the wheel well. Wouldn't recommend using any tire with an overall diameter larger than stock and/or with a tire width larger than 215.
+44mm to +47mm ::: This is a grey area if you are lowered, results vary depending on tire and/or drop. You take the chance of rubbing the outside lip of the wheel well. Wouldn't recommend using a tire with an overall diameter more than slightly larger than stock, you chances of rubbing increase.
+48mm to +52mm ::: You shouldn't have any problems. Recommended Offsets for 7.5" Wide Wheels.
Larger than +53mm ::: Not Recommended. You take the chance of rubbing the inside lining of the wheel well.

8" Wide Wheels w/ 4th & 5th Gen

Not recommended without enlarging or rolling outside lip of wheel wells. Some people have had success with running offsets larger than +48mm, but you are taking an expensive risk.

I know they are 18X8, but you posted 18x9's would fit.

I still have the 18x7.5's in my sig but I will probably be selling them as soon as I find some 17's I am looking for locally. I think they look nice, but they majorly hurt my car's drivablitity.

I can't really recommend another 17" wheel for you since wheel choice is nothing but personal taste. Also, wheels that would look good on my black car would probably look like ass on your silver car. I think the RSX-S wheels you already have suit your car perfectly, if you just want something different, why not just paint them or dress them up somehow?

personally i would NOT go any bigger than 17's. i had 17x8's on my car with 215/40r/17 tires and idk if it was the quality of the rim but i got RAPED by pot holes. 1 bent rim, 1 cracked rim and 3 flat tires later i'm looking into buying 16's (and thats only after a year of having the car). if pot holes aren't something you're concerned about then i'd say hell go for the 18's cause i definitely think 18 inch rims look very good on the lude. i love the look of the low profile rim and everything, but personally for me living in massachusetts with the winter weather and pot holes the size of the fkn grand canyon i personally would not buy 18 inch rims. also just another personal preference of mine, i would not get the rims you picked out, in my opinion the best looking rim on the prelude is a simple five spoke rim. but everyone has their own opinion on what looks good. good luck on your search! i'll look up some rims i like and post them so you can see.

Look at Rota Slipstreams. I'm looking at buying a set of 16's in flat black pretty soon. they're a relatively light, cheap wheel with many different colors.
